Vietnam Side Table

Vietnam Side Table

Side Table 1 - To preserve the lacquer table's beauty and long-lasting shine, you need to note the following:

1. Avoid direct sunlight and high temperatures:

Sunlight and high temperatures can fade the paint, cause cracking or peeling of the lacquer.

Place the table in a cool place, avoid direct sunlight and keep away from heat sources such as fireplaces and stoves.

2. Avoid humid environments:

High humidity can affect the wood material inside (if any), causing termites, warping, blistering and damage to the lacquer.

Keep the space around the table dry and airy.

3. Avoid collisions and scratches:

Lacquer surfaces are easily scratched by hard or sharp objects.

Avoid dragging objects on the table. Lift and place objects gently.

Use soft pads under objects that are frequently placed on the table (such as vases, cups, etc.).

4. Proper cleaning:

Regular dusting: Use a soft, dry, clean cloth to gently wipe the table surface daily or regularly to prevent dust from accumulating and fading the paint.

Handling light stains: If there are light stains, use a soft, damp cloth to wipe them. Then wipe them off immediately with a dry cloth.

Do not use strong chemicals: Absolutely do not use strong detergents, abrasives, or chemical solvents to clean the lacquer table, as they can damage the paint.

Avoid water: Minimize the amount of water spilled directly on the lacquer surface. If water is spilled, use a soft cloth to dry it immediately.

For stubborn stains: You can use a little bit of extremely mildly diluted dishwashing liquid or diluted alcohol to wipe gently, then wipe again with a damp cloth and a dry cloth. Test in a hidden corner before applying to the entire surface.

Do not use hard objects to scrape off stains: This will scratch the paint surface.

5. Polishing (when necessary):

After a period of use, the lacquer surface may become dull. You can use specialized polishing waxes for lacquered wood to refresh and increase the shine of the table. Follow the instructions of the wax manufacturer.

Some people use the folk method of using sliced potatoes or onions to gently rub the surface and then wipe it with a soft cloth to polish it, but be careful and test it on a small area first.

6. Storage when not in use:

If the table is not used for a long time, wipe it clean, wrap it with a soft cloth or plastic and place it in a dry, cool place, away from direct sunlight.

Important note:

Always handle the lacquer table gently.

Avoid direct and frequent contact of hand sweat with the lacquer surface, as sweat can affect the paint color over time. Wear soft gloves when cleaning or moving the table.

By following the above instructions, you will help your lacquer table retain its beauty and aesthetic value for many years to come.
